With all of the cuts going in Dekalb, what is your school losing? Have they lost any teachers yet? magnet program? I have a lot of friends in Dekalb and I’m obviously hearing a lot of frustration on the teacher end. Just curious. By the way from reading a lot of your blogs concerning the schools- your involvement rocks:)

Dekalb hasn’t voted on the budget yet, but it looks like we will keep the magnet program, at least for this year. We will probably lose a couple of points (teachers).

I am really not that involved, but am learning more through this process.

It is just sad how mismanaged the county has been and it is a travesty that it has gotten as bad as it has. Everyone is going to be feeling the cuts in the next few years.

Remind me – are you City of Dec? City of ATL? Fulton? Can’t remember.

I am City of Decatur. We haven’t lost positions- we did have a salary decrease and salary freeze- haven’t figured what that will look like monthly-they said we will have more cuts next year. I am thankful for my job, just frustrated getting paid less. I feel for the larger counties-Dekalb, Fulton, APS there is so much going on with them that we haven’t felt in Decatur- sigh…
