Rainy Day with Kids

We are going absolutely batshit stircrazy over here.

What do you do with kids when it rains? We have exhausted coloring, puzzles, games. Thinking about Fiesta mall playground later.

Any and all ideas will be considered.

    hire a tv?
    duct tape and a closet?

    I have no idea.

  2. Dogwood Girl says:

Duct tape is my friend. TV exhausted.

Gah. We are just going to get in the car and go explore. Wish us luck.

  3. Shannon says:

Can’t help you on that- I’m having a hard enough time figuring out how to entertain myself:) Good Luck!

  4. Nat says:

We are going bowling. About 4 miles from our house. Pitchers of beer and they usually have football on too.

  5. Nikki says:

    Welcome to our Seattle winter.

  6. Kristianna says:

I set up a mini bounce house in the living room the other day. it’s 8×8 feet and worth all the shoving of furniture to the periphery. 🙂

Do you have Pump It Up or someplace like that there? How abotu a McD’s playland? Raincoats and boots and puddle splashing outside?

  7. Jen says:

How about bundle them up, throw on some boots then let them splash in the puddles? Don’t forget umbrellas.

  8. Dogwood Girl says:

That is a good idea, Jen. We ended up taking them to Dim Sum at Canton House, then Fiesta Plaza to play on the indoor playground and eat Churros. Then Farmer’s market.

  9. Dogwood Girl says:

Kristianna, we don’t have one of those. Plus, it never rains there. 🙂

  10. Dogwood Girl says:

Nikki, not kidding when I say i would go NUTS. No way i could live there.

  11. Dogwood Girl says:

Nat, we have done bowling. Pretty fun with the kids now that they are bigger.

  12. Dogwood Girl says:

Shannon, did y’all go to thrift stores? One of my favorite things to do without kids.

  13. Shannon says:

Yeah- we hit a couple different thrift stores, Tuesday Morning, Richard’s variety store, and this little Indian food market- it was fun, but then hunger kicked in and I got cranky:)Hope you guys had a good rainy day!

  14. Dogwood Girl says:

Sounds like a nice rainy afternoon activity!

going to add fiesta mall to my mental list! how about – staircase relays – that’ll wear them out. also, there’s an indoor skate park at discover mills – they could rollerblade. also one of those trampoline bungie things at discover. i tried it last time with the nephews – fun! oh – or monkey joe’s. or take a marta ride to the airport and back. that’s all i got right now. and a day late at that!

  16. Dogwood Girl says:

    Staircase relays! Ha!

Oh, and I would say that Iain is too little for a while for Plaza Fiesta. . . there is no “little kids” area.

    Good suggestions.
