We had a bit of a dance party last night after dinner. Rollie, in particular, loves The Dance. I don't care how shitty your Monday is, if you can watch this and not crack a smile, you are a cold, soulless bastard. Or bitch, as the case may be.
Thanks for posting, this makes my day! For a minute there, when Rollie dropped to the floor it looked like he was going to break out a butt-spin. Also, it wasn't until the second viewing that I noticed poor little Scully cowering behind the entertainment center. ;)
Lyle, I am a little concerned that you felt the need to watch it twice. Not enough work to do today? Poor scully. She lives a tortured existence. Can you imagine what the animals must be thinking about us when we are doing all of this?
Anonymous: I am fine with Rollie being gay. Are you okay with being an asshole?
Stress - Agreed. Those first few moves were pretty impressive.
I was unclear on when, exactly, the "Big Dance" began. Is it when he drops to one arm, sort of like he's doing a one-armed push-up? Or was it all the Big Dance?
This is why I've had to watch it several times, Anne!
The big dance is nebulous, Lyle. It is more of an attitude than an actual move. It is also better in person. We will demonstrate at next family gathering.
Beau has some of those exact moves! I am not kidding--especially the breaking ones on the floor. Are they taking a hiphop class together somewhere and we don't know about it? Maybe it is part of the preschool curriculum. Beau does have "creative movement" at his school and I have always been a little unclear on what that entails. I mean all movement 3 year olds do seems pretty creative to me.
Nat! You have found out their dirty little secret. Once a week, I pick up Beau and drop him off at a dance school here in the hood. Next week is his gang initiation.

This totally explains why he keeps asking if he can get a tatoo. Of course the white kid would ask for permission first.
I LOVED that! Rollie's got some serious moves. And Tiller looked like she was trying to join right in. She's walking, big girl!!!
I want to Big Dance.
