2010, Please Let’s Not Start

So, i woke up feeling good today, despite not sleeping well last night. But things went downhill. I am just kind of sad today and then realized that today would have been my Pop’s 94th birthday. I was in his world since 1972 and it just seems weird not to be able to call him and wish (yell) him a happy birthday. He was on this earth from 1916 to 2009. . . my mind boggles at all that passed in his lifetime.

And then I also found out that a neighbor (whom I did not even know by name) was murdered this past weekend, allegedly by her own husband. Their kids go to Rollie’s school. The family were members at our pool. The family had been missing and then the kids were found at a family member’s and when we heard that, we all knew it was not good, but still didn’t not know what happened to them. Our community has been rocked by the news of her death.

Just a generally sad, and heartbreaking day. Some days I have little faith in the world.

Don’t let some brutal and murderous fool ruin your day… and as for your
Pop… He’s doin just fine up there. He’s probably surrounded by a pack of tiny. nasty, biting Palmer dogs (that love him dearly).

I had no idea how close in age Pop and my grandmother Vivian were in age. She would have been 95 yesterday. Oh, and Stipe turned 50 yesterday!

I didn’t know that Vivian was the fourth. . . Pop would have been 94.

    Stipe is 50? Gosh.

Adam, that made me laugh. It had not occurred to me that Pop might be in heaven with Tiny sitting on his lap snarling! Will have to share that with my dad.

Lori, it was good seeing you at the store today – Ian is getting so big! Agreed on the heavy hearts, and i just got news that my cousin passed from cancer this evening, too. A very sad day all around. Hugs to you, too! And i will let you know next time i have nephew in advance and we’ll get the boys together. They would have fun.

I knew your neighbor, we worked in the same circles but rarely together. She is greatly missed… I fear that a few people haven’t heard the news and I don’t have the guts to tell them. Not until we have more answers.

    feeling your sadness

Hi, Amy. Yes, Todd and i both noticed that you were a mutual friend of hers on facebook and figured that you knew her through photography. It is v. sad. I can’t believe that people haven’t heard about it now that it has been on the news. V. sad for her. Hope she didn’t suffer. And v. sad for the poor children. Heartbreaking.

And Erin, you are pretty damn cool yourself. Thanks for the cheering up.
