The Shiner

For those who want to see my shiner, here you go. For those of you who are wondering how Todd managed to resist hitting me for this long, stuff it. I did it myself with a shovel.

It’s not too bad! Sadly, I’ve had worse. (Tried to find the photo of the Florida car wreck aftermath that was my face, to no avail.)

Here it is the day after I did it.
Day After

And this morning. (Very brave of me to put up a post-wakeup, puffy eyes, no makeup photo, no?)
And this morning

Uh . . . enjoy it, sickos.

This is NICE. And man, that must have hurt. About 5 years ago, when I was still playing competitive Ultimate, I got hit in the same spot with an errant disc. Commence shiner…and I had a special event with the president of the University (my boss of all bosses) the next day. So I got all dressed up and showed up with the shiner. He seemed impressed and maybe a little intimidated. There’s special power in strategic bruising. Use yours wisely.

ha! Thanks, Courtney. Good advice. How ya feeling? I am going to the game on Sat. so wish me luck.

    leelee, you are mean.

You look a lot like your mother in that second photo. Or, at least, what I imagine your mother would look like with a black eye.

  5. Dogwood Girl says:

Do i need to ask if you like imagining my mama with a black eye?

And yes, I actually do think i look like my mom in this one.

  6. Lyle Johnson says:

Uh oh. Now I’ve said too much.
