God, I Needed That

Rollie just walked in the house. I was bracing for “I’m hungry,” “Tiller destroyed your flowers!” or something along those lines. I was not prepared for:

“Mama, do you want me to show you how to do the Macarena? Gracie knows how to do the Macarena and she taught me.”

[Stifling a laugh.] “Uh, Yeah!”

He proceeds to do the Macarena, including the little hands on hips hipshake part, once in each direction.

North. South. East. West.

The look of concentration on his face was the best part. He even messed up once and grunted and made a face and started over again. I don’t think he even knows that there is music that goes with the dance.

And he will not. Ever.

    HA!!!!!!!!!!! Leah is SO IN TO IT too!! What is this….. some right of passage for 5 year olds!

    But get ready for this, i DID play the music. Is that terrible or what!?!?! I remembered i had some sort of wonky compilation album of dance hits from 1997 which included as a throw in, the Macarena as the last track.

    She’s happy to bust a move with or without it…… tell Rollie he can come over and have a dance party any day!!!

    Yes, that is terrible and I am surprised that Scott hasn’t divorced you yet!

    That being said, the dance party would be damn funny. The thing about rollie is that he is so focused on it, that he looks like he is performing brain surgery!

    OMG! Max, too! He showed me how to do it the other day. I think the Kindergarten teachers are teaching it as some sort of revenge. Too funny!
