I’m really not sure whether this makes me eco-conscious, or a big old, no fun stick-in-the-mud. I do know that it looks frighteningly like something Pop would have done, although I did not take it as far as his sister Mary, who would just strike out the writing on cards and then reuse them.
Perhaps would have looked cuter had I saved weeks of comics and wrapped it all in those? Curious to see what Rollie’s reaction will be when his gift is not clad in Spidey or, um, anything with color on it.
So, am i Green or Cheap? (or both?)

But…. wrapping paper is cheap and biodegradable….why would one use newspaper?
It doesn’t actually look bad, though.
Comics would have been more fun. 🙂
At least they are wrapped. I think that scores major points!
Yeah – in our house the shopping bag = wrapping. And the families joke around about passing the same gift bags around for every birthday.
We save all our bags, too. but these didn’t fit.
Brad, i used comics first, but ran out and didn’t have any more in the recycling bin.
Totally GREEN and I love it!
Thanks, Kat!
If it makes you feel any better Rollie’s present from Aunt Lisa will be wrapped in leftover Hello Kitty paper!
Anne likes this.
I say both, and I totally get behind it! I refuse to buy wrapping paper. I should add I didn’t feel this way before I married Brian. I actually love wrapping paper, but Brian’s cheapness has rubbed off on me. Oh, I’m sorry, he’s not cheap, he’s “value oriented.”
Yeah, it is green. Most definitely.
So, the first few times Brian gave you gifts, you were like, “WTF? His cheap ass can’t even wrap me a gift in real paper?”
Haha – he NEVER wraps! He has the people at the store do it 🙂
Um, that’s not really cheap, though, is it?
